Driving Home From Colorado

You know, the open road is a curious thing. Or it has become such. We're all so involved from getting one place to another, we're cooped up in an air-conditioned shell, insulated from The World. We try to make time go fast by entertaining ourselves, the headphones, the personal DVD player, the books, the food. The munchies... don't get me started on those. I can't stand eating junk food when traveling! If we do get out of the car, it's for less than five minutes in some gas station.

And it's so anonymous! We're all behind glass windows you can hardly see through and only attempt to when passing. "Let me pass this little Toyota, I'm in a big huge monstrous truck. It swallowed a luxury car." Anyway, you're so anonymous but you're all having this shared experience... It's weird.

But here's an idea for some fast food place's billboard: (in big letters) "JKQVZ" (then smaller) "Here's to the alphabet game." And it could be an entire campaign based on kids-are-in-the-car-let's-keep-them-busy-games. It's a nice family place to go with families on trips kind of a place!

Yup. Now it'll probably be stolen and appear on some billboard within a month.

I love your billboard idea. Sooo funny. Keep thinking like that. You may have a future in marketing... :)

Actually, I had some thoughts about what I want to do when I grow up. Just rolling around up there...

I like commercials; they really interest me! And they can be so funny. And even the cool techno commercials are so amazing. So I was thinking something along the lines of commercial composer/orchestrator. Or even some art director of a company's advertising.

I also like packaging. It's soooo neat! So I'd like to work for a company's packaging/creative/art department.

But now advertising is piquing my interest. I got this book "Emotional Branding" that really speaks to me about the identity, the promise of the company. Coke has a really, really good brand. It's so nostalgic, so American, so homey, so "the real thing." The magic of the brand intrigues me.

So I've narrowed the choices down! The only thing I absolutely do NOT want to do is to me independent, freelance. SCARY! I want to work for a solid company. Yes, I do.
