The Decline of Electronic Mail

It seems that the world has grown up for email. You know something's old when it's referred to as the "old-fashioned way." What's the new way? Texting. Social networking. Both of which I don't "get." Sure, I text, but it's infrequent and only to those who prefer it. It's not really convenient for me. It doesn't REALLY fit with my lifestyle, which is spent usually.... in front of the computer. How lame.

Anyway, our communicating skills are decaying! Where has letter-writing gone? No one writes letters anymore (besides those glossy, fluffy, end-of-year, mass-produced "our family is doing wonderfully" letters)! I mean, email is a... quicker substitute for letter writing, and you're still composing words and meaning. I think email is just wonderful.

But Facebook and texting? What kind of communication is that? "So-N-So became a fan of I hate when people steal your words that you say all the time!"? Oh well. I can't quite articulate the distress I feel.

See?
