Facebook and Sticky Notes

Recently, my roommates and I have had a post-it-note battle on the bathroom mirrors, and it reads very much like a Facebook status that spawned a shower of comments. You've seen them -- the two people who go back and forth with witty remarks for the world to see?

It's made me think, though, would anything like this post-it-note conversation ever happen before social networks and Facebook? Would it have happened before texting? It seems that, in our era of time-displaced television, music, and conversations, carrying a dialogue out in short, discrete one-liners over a period of days doesn't seem out of the ordinary. It seems that technology has changed our day-to-day social habits. It has changed our natures.

What do you think?
